Shaykh Salih al-Luhaydan Praises and Defends Shaykh Rabee'

Shaykh Salih al-Luhaydaan, in a question answer session yesterday (21/01/2010CE) following a talk on the characteristics of at-Taa'ifat ul-Mansoorah and al-Firqat un-Naajiyah, was asked a question regarding Shaykh Rabee' bin Haadee al-Madkhali (audio quality is rather poor):

Question:

أقرأ وأسمع في بعض المجالس حملة تطعن في فضيلة الشيخ الدكتور ربيع بن هادي المدخلي والتحذير منه والأخذ عنه وأنه ليس من أهل السنة والجماعة مما جعلني في حيرة من أمري فما حكم ذلك نرجو التوضيح وجزاكم الله خيرا

The Shaykh's Answer:

لا شك أنه من أهل العلم وهو من تلامذة شيخنا الشيخ عبد العزيز في المدينة وكان من الأساتذة في جامعة المدينة ولا أعرف عنه انحرافا لا في عقيدة ولا في أخلاق بل ظني فيه أنه حسن وأنه من أهل الخير ومن المكافحين لدعاة الفتنة

ثم إني أنصح الشباب أن يتجنبوا الوقيعة في أهل العلم ويكفوا ألسنتهم وأن يحرصوا على تقييم أنفسهم ثم إذا رأوا في أحد فيما يظنون عيبا فليفتشوا أنفسهم ولينظروا فيها فإذا وجدوا عيوبا فيحرصون على إصلاحها ...

I read and I hear in some sittings a campaing slandering the noble scholar as-Shaikh Rabee' ibn Hadee al-Madkhalee and warnings against him, in addition to taking from him (knowledge), and that he is not from Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah, which made me become confused in my affair (of seeking knowledge). So what is the ruling upon this, please clarify? Jazakumullaahu Khair.

He (Sheikh Saalih) answered:

There is no doubt that he (Shaikh Rabee') is from the people of knowledge, and he is from the students of our Shaykh, Shaykh Abdul 'Azeez (Ibn Baaz) (when they were) in Madinah, and he (Shaykh Rabee') used to be from the teachers of Madinah (Islamic) University. I do not know any deviations of him neither in Aqeedah nor in Akhlaaq (mannerism), rather my perception of him that he is good and that he is from the people of goodness, as well as being from those who battle the callers to fitnah.

Thereafter I advise the youth is to stay away from reviling the scholars, and to withhold their tongues (from reviling the scholars). Also let them (the youth) strive to assess themselves (to improve themselves). And then if they saw what they thought is a fault in someone, then let them investigate their own souls (first), and let them look into them, so if they saw faults (in their own souls), they should be eager to rectify them ...

Here's the Reality...

Shaykh Rabee' bin Haadee al-Madkhali is an Imaam from the Imaams of the Sunnah. He defended the deen of Islaam from the Marxist Socialist Communism that Sayyid Qutb tried to frame upon it (see here), claiming Islam is blended from Communism and Christianity and adds harmony to their objectives. And he defended the honours of the Companions of Allaah's Messenger, Uthmaan, Mu'awiyah, Amr bin al-Aas and the Bani Umayyah from the Rafidi poison in Qutb's books and he also defended the Salafi aqidah from the doctrines of the Jahmiyyah, Mu'tazilah, Ash'ariyyah, Jabariyyah, Ittihaadiyyah, and the aqidah of the Khawaarij - giving sincerity in purpose in all of that to Allaah, His Book, His Messenger, and to the generality of the Muslims - he is considered as such by the Scholars of the Sunnah - so may Allaah reward him with great good.

Just imagine these people present in the time of Imaam Ahmad defending a man in whose books there is Tajahhum alone, leaving aside all the other calamities, and indeed these Qutbiyyah today, would be those very people in the time of Imaam Ahmad, making their walaa and baraa upon other than the Salafi aqidah and its particulars and details, and it would be Imaam Ahmad and the Imaams of the Sunnah receiving their wrath, just like it is Shaykh Rabee' today who is receiving their wrath, who is a carrier of the aahaadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), with sanads that trace back to the authors of the Saheeh books of hadeeth. Whilst they align themselves with the carriers of the distillation of western materialist philosophies, tajahhum, rafd, jabr, tafwid and the likes. And from their hypocrisy is that they claim refutation of the Ash'arites and refutation of the deen of the Jahmiyyah, boasting about that and feeling proud of that, whilst at the same time, they bend over backwards, spending from their wealth, and showing the greatest of eagerness in attaching people to Ash'aris and Sufi Mufawwidhs in whose books there is the negation of Allaah's uluww, negation of al-Istiwaa, the creation of the Qur'an, negation of Allaah's Throne, and Kursee, the Ittihaad of the Sufis and imputation of tafwidh to the Salaf!

The Word "Madkhali"

The words "Madkhali" and "Madaakhilah" are words used to frighten people away from the true Scholars of the religion and from the methodologies of the Book and the Sunnah. These words are simply an attempt to scapegoat one Scholar when in reality all the Scholars of the Sunnah are intended by it. It is similar in its intended usage to the word "Wahhabi", whereas this word (Wahhabi) is to frighten people away from the Tawhid of the Messengers and its Scholars, and likewise the word "Mujassimah" is used to frighten people away from affirmation of the Attributes, and likewise the word "Hanbali" is frequently used in a derogatory sense by the Ash'aris with their understanding that they are referring to those whom they believe to be the Mujassimah. Similarly the word "Madkhali" is used in a derogatory sense to frighten people away from the divinely revealed methodologies in the Book and the Sunnah that pertain to understanding and application of the methodology of the Prophets in da'wah and rectification and in tying al-Qadaa wal-Qadar with Allaah's legislative command. The word "Madkhali" is used to frighten people from the Scholars in truth and towards the "fikr" of 20th century ignoramuses whose ideologies, thoughts, conceptions, writings and books were simply a distillation of the western materialist philosophies they had studied (see here), coupled with their ignorance, and their zeal for Islam, as a result of which they came up with the Qadari-I'tizaali mental frameworks and outlooks that were simply an extension of the Leninist-Marxist manifestos they ended up writing upon their own understandings of "Social Justice" (see here). And that's leaving aside the innovations of the Jahmiyyah, Mu'tazilah, Ash'ariyyah, Mufawwidah, Jabariyyah, Rafidah and the Khawarij that are found in their works. So the line is drawn and the two parties are known and clear, and nothing remains after truth except misguidance!
