With all of this, we want to refute this Communist Marxist defilement of Islam from that secular atheistic materialist philosophy that Qutb tried to enter into it, and all praise is due to Allaah who refused to let the likes of Qutb from gaining the reigns of power and imposing this defilement upon the people, for if Qutb had gained power, we would have seen the people bear the brunt of his version of Haakimiyyah that admits the atheistic materialist tenets of Marxism.

Qutb As a Proponent Of Atheistic Marxist Socialism's Fusion with Islam As Means to Enact "Social Justice"

We covered in the article "Readings in Elementary Communism" (see here), that Qutb claimed Islam was fused in part from Communism, sharing with its ideals and objectives. He wrote a number of books "Social Justice in Islam" and also "The Battle of Islam and Capitalism", and these books were written from a Marxist-Communist-Socialist perspective (because he was gulping down Western materialist philosophies for 15 years of life previously). Within these books we find that atheistic philosophy coming through explicitly, where he outlines and corroborates the great and foundational principles of that atheistic philosophy and clothes them in an Islamic garb.

And you have to really pity the intellectually bankrupt and swindling fools that are the Qutbiyyah who came out in the name of "refuting secularism", only to defend one of the greatest of promulgators of the fusion of Islam with secular atheistic philosophies that would have touched upon the economic and social aspects of the lives of millions in Muslim nations had the likes of Qutb come to power and implemented their Islamo-Communism (see these doctrines outlined below). And that's besides (these people) turning a blind eye to the doctrines of the Jahmiyyah, Ash'ariyyah, Mu'tazilah, Murji'ah, Jabariyyah, Rafidah, Khawaarij that are found in his works.

We will simply summarize things here regarding the atheistic secular doctrine of Marxist Socialism that Qutb believed in. For the actual citations refer to the article "Readings in Elementary Communism" (see here).

To Qutb, property, wealth is the collective right of all the people in a society, it is the fundamental "right of the jamaa'ah as a whole", as he says. Once this Marxist-Communist principle has been entered into his version of Islam, then it follows that his version of Haakimiyyah also allows for the wealth of individuals and fruits of private endeavor to be confiscated for the benefit of all, so he says, "Rather, it is in the power of the state to confiscate all (private) possessions and fortunes (i.e. personal wealth) and to redistribute them upon a new basis, even if these possessions had been attained (by their owners) through foundations that Islam acknowledges, and had grown (in value, quantity) by means that it (Islam) justifies." Further, those who just sit on wealth, then their wealth, upon the atheistic secular doctrines of secular atheistic Jews, is haraam (unlawful) to Qutb, "As for those who sit and do not work, then their riches are haraam and their wealth is haraam", did he boldly proclaim in his book on Islam and Capitalism, having been duped and beguiled by that intellectual and historical fraud called "The Communist Manifesto", a blueprint for the looting of the wealth of nations, societies and individuals. Then his version of Haakimiyyah also admits for the state to impose a variety of taxes, "It is in the power of the state, firstly, to impose (make binding) specific taxes besides the general taxes - as it wills" he writes. And it is for the likes of such a [Marxist-Communist characterized] governance that Qutb implemented a "Leninist" revolution. Whilst imprisoned, he put this ideology and methodology into writing.

It is necessary to absolve and free Islam from this defilement and so we will bring here some proofs brought by Shaykh Abdul-Aziz ar-Raajihee in refutation of Marxist-Socialism in his book "Fawaa'id fil-Aqidah" (Benefits in Aqidah).

Refutation of Marxist Socialism From the Book and the Sunnah

The Shaykh presents these evidences under the title, "Sharee'ah Evidences For the Unlawfulness of Socialism", and he brings from the Qur'an:

وَاللّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ فِي الْرِّزْقِ فَمَا الَّذِينَ فُضِّلُواْ بِرَآدِّي رِزْقِهِمْ عَلَى مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيهِ سَوَاء أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ اللّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ

And Allah has preferred some of you above others in wealth and properties. Then, those who are preferred will by no means hand over their wealth and properties to those (slaves) whom their right hands possess, so that they may be equal with them in respect thereof. Do they then deny the Favour of Allah? (An-Nahl 16:71).

And he comments on this saying:

And speaking with Socialism is insolent rebellion against the heavenly order.

Then, the verse:

Is it they who would portion out the mercy of your Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in this world, and We raised some of them above others in ranks, so that some may employ others in their work. But the Mercy (Paradise) of your Lord is better than the (wealth of this world) which they amass. (Az-Zukhruf 43:32)

The Shaykh comments on this saying:

So Allaah, the Most High, has made the people disparate in poverty and riches, just as He made them disparate in their lifespans and actions.

Then, the verse:

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever WellıAcquainted with what you do. (An-Nisa 4:135)

The Shaykh comments on this saying:

So Allaah prohibited the witness from testifying (in favor) of the poor on account of his poverty against the rich, and he ordered with justice in giving witness.

Then, the verse:

Cut off (from the wrist joint) the (right) hand of the thief, male or female, as a recompense for that which they committed... (Al-Ma'idah 5:38)

The Shaykh comments on this saying:

This indicates the obligation of cutting the hand of the thief, for if the people were partners in [all the] wealth, it would not have been obligatory to cut off the hand of the thief.

That's because the thief would simply be taking what actually already belongs to him, upon the Marxist-Socialist-Communist doctrine. But in reality, the Marxist-Socialist-Communist doctrine is simply one that is used to loot the wealth of nations and the fruits of private endeavor, it was never meant to share the wealth with all people in the first place.

And then from the Sunnah:

  • The Shaykh brings the hadeeth ( من قتل دون ماله فهو شهيد), "Whoever is killed defending his wealth, then he is a martyr", and then says that Islam honours individual ownership to such a degree that it renders the one who defends his wealth a martyr.

  • Then he mentions the institution of zakaah and of [obligatory] spending, and had the people all shared in the wealth, then zakaah for the poor would not be obligatory and likewise the spending that is obligatory (i.e. a man upon his family) - would not have been made obligatory.

  • And he mentions the people of Sufah (Ahl as-Sufah) who used to live on the charity given by the people and had Socialism been legislated, then the wealth of Uthmaan and Abdur-Rahman bin Awf (radiallaahu anhumaa) would have been confiscated and given to them (Ahl us-Sufah)

  • And then he brings the hadeeth, (لا يحل مال امرئ مسلم إلا بطيبة من نفسه), "The wealth of a Muslim man [or woman] is not not permitted (for anyone else) except what he gives from willingly from himself", and this is very clear in refuting Marxism.

Thus, we see a decisive refutation of this Marxist ideology in the revealed texts.

Summary

Sayyid Qutb was a "thinker" poisoned with Western materialist philosophies. He got duped and taken in by that atheistic philosophy which is Marxist-Socialism that was penned by Marx and Engels, being nothing but a slick ideological means of looting the wealth of nations and societies and individuals, "International Socialism" (Bolshevism, Russia) and National Socialism (Germany) were both offshoots of this ideology and ignoramuses like Qutb believed in and accepted these doctrines. Qutb entered this atheistic materialist philosophy in his critiques of capitalism. He envisaged an Islam fused with the tenets of Marxist-Socialism as a means of establishing Social Justice for the masses and to combat those evil nasty "capitalists". This influenced his interpretation of early Islamic history and his attacks upon Uthmaan (radiallaahu anhu) which he continued to publish right to the very end of his life were motivated ideologically by the secular atheist Marxist Socialism that he was upon. This is why when Mahmood Shakir refuted Qutb for attacking the Companions in his 1952 paper, "Do Not Revile My Companions" (see this series here), he very aptly remarked about Qutb, that he (Shakir) is surprised that the malice of the idolatrous western civilization should explode in the heart of one claiming defense of Islaam (i.e. Qutb) (see this article for the quote). And all of that is besides the innovations of the Khaarijiyyah, Jahmiyyah, Ash'ariyyah, Mu'tazilah, Jabariyyah, Murji'ah and others littered all over his main work.

Then along come your Qutbiyyah after the Gulf War, led by intellectual fraudsters such as Safar al-Hawali and Salman al-Awdah (their strings being pulled by the likes of Mohammad Qutb and Mohammad Suroor) placing that 20th Century ignoramus Marxist Socialist Communist non-Scholar in the ranks of the greatest and most erudite Shaykhs of Islaam. Why the comparison? Because after implementing a Leninist Socialist revolution with his comrade Jamal Abdul-Nasser, he was thrown in prison. And he was kept in prison because of Nasser's fear that Qutb could well launch another Leninist revolution against him. So whilst imprisoned he began penning down that ideology which was nothing but a fusion of:

  • His resentment and hatred towards his former revolutionary comrade and the Taghuti order he was instrumental in bringing about in the first place
  • His resentment towards the Islamic world (he made Takfir of every single Muslim and Muslim society who did not share his doctrine)
  • The notion of "barbarism" (jaahiliyyah) of Alexis Carrel (French Eugenicist)
  • The materialist philosophies of Marx and Engels (Atheist Secular Jews)
  • The notion of rulership and divine authority (Haakimiyyah) taken from Abu A'laa Mawdudi
  • And the revolutionary manifesto of Vladimir Lenin

This is what came through in his final works, and he was entered (fraudulently) within the ranks of the Shaykhs of Islaam, and this is the intellectual fraud of those Qutbiyyah. This is the ideology for which we see these deluded Qutbiyyah in the East and the West, being prepared to conquer mountains, dive into the seas, rise into the heavens, and to spend from their wealth, in order to defend - since they defend his works in which such an ideology is contained. This is the man and the ideology for which these people assault the Sunnah and its people. This is the man and the ideology ("Social Justice", "Revolution") which led to the revival of the deen of the Khawaarij in the second half of the twentieth century. It was this ideology that was used to help launch that Rafidi Revolution and it was this ideology that was behind Qutb's attacks upon Uthmaan and Mu'awiyah (radiallaahu anhum) and the Bani Umayyah, (that's why the Rafidah love Qutb). And it was for this ideology that Qutb described that revolution of Abdullah bin Saba' as one "motivated by the true Islamic spirit" (what he really means is his Islamo-Communist spirit). And how great is the saying of Shaykh Saalih as-Suhaymee:

و لا تغركم دعاوى العداوة المفتعلة بين الصهيونية و بين تلك الفئات فإنهم أصدقاء منذ فتنة عبد الله بن سبأ و إلى يومنا هذا

Do not be deceived by the claims of that artificial enmity between the Zionists and those groups (the Khawaarij), for they are friends, ever since the time of Abdullaah bin Saba' until this day of ours.

The same Qabbalists that created Zionism in the 19th century are the same ones that created the Marxist, Socialist, Communist, Leninist ideology. And this was the materialist philosophy that was behind the global revival of the Khawaarij in the 20th in that its most fundamental tenets came through in Qutb's "Social Justice" and "Revolution", slogans which in a way were crystallized in Dhul Khuwaisarah at-Tamimi's statement "Be just...". And thus you have your Bin Ladens', Ayman al-Zawahiris' and other Kharijite-Dogs who - upon that ideology - make Takfir of Muslim societies (see here), call for revolutions in the Muslim lands and at the same time they are prominent players in the theater of the "War on Terror".
