The Shaykh and Muhaddith Hammaad al-Ansari (rahimahullaah) said, "Muhammad Quṭb is an Ashʿarī" and he also said, "Muhammad Quṭb, Sayyid Quṭb's brother, is a dangerous Ashʿarī." As for the Ash'ariyyah of Sayyid Qutb, it is plain and evident in his commentary on the Qur'an, Fi Dhilal al-Quran. And this has been documented in other articles.

The fitnah (tribulation) of Takfir, Extremism and terrorism, both ideological and physical, came from these Ash'arites of Egypt. Mohammad Qutb, with his hatred and resentment of the Sunnah and its people, sharing in the takfiri ideology of his brother, came to Saudi Arabia and found stooges through whom he propagated the ideology of his brother. He funded and re-published his books throughout the decades, and worked to tear the youth from the Major Scholars of the Sunnah, and spread the evil Marxist-Leninist ("Social Justice", "state", "revolution") poison through the society.

Note: It is grave and serious error to compare between genuine and true scholars like Ibn Hajar and al-Nawawi - who were upon the errors of the Ash'arites - and ignorant kharijite blind and wandering, straying, misguided innovators like Sayyid Qutb, who declared all Muslims on the face of the earth to be apostates, disbelievers, and called for destructive revolutions in all Muslim societies. He died upon that belief, and thus, there is no doubt that he was a Kharijite, upon whom all the statements of the Prophet (alayhis salaam) are applicable in that regard. As for Ibn Hajar and al-Nawawi, then a thousand Qutb's would not have produced the benefit they have produced for the Ummah in their concern with the hadith, its sciences, compilation and explanation - may Allah reward them with goodness and overlook their errors. Amin.

As for Sayyid Qutb, then he brought the fikr of secular atheist Jews into the Ummah, the maxims of Marx and Engels, and the revolutionary manifesto of Lenin, and he considered Islam to be a fusion of Communism and Christianity, he permitted the legislation of Secular Law (confiscation of private property) in order fulfil his (Marxist-Communist) notion of "Social Justice", and he lauded and praised the revolution of Abdullah bin Saba' against Uthman (radiallaahu anhu) and likewise that of the Qaraamitah Batiniyyah - all from the perspective of secular European philosophies he was "gulping" in the early part of his life and upon and a secular materialist reading of early Islamic history and perception of "Social Justice".
